As a Realtor, I can help you see the potential in a property

I read a great book recently called The Shack by Wm. Paul Young. The book is purely fiction, but I think many people would benefit from the story.
The storyline goes that the hero, Mack, gets a note from “Papa” to meet him at “the shack.” Many people like Mack would look at the shack like it was a run down abandoned cabin deep in the Oregon wilderness. That is, until someone comes along and opens their eyes.
I do not want to spoil the story for you, but my point today is that one person may view a property as a “run down place” while another may view it as an “opportunity” to remodel and breathe in new life.
The shack is a special place to Mack because of something brutal that happened to his family, but in this religious fiction, “Papa” or God helps Mack to see the shack through totally different eyes. It became part of a healing process for the hero.
Part of my job as a Realtor is to help our customers do just that - see the potential in a property. You must face the facts, that remodel jobs are expensive, but they often provide a wonderful opportunity to make something out of an eyesore. You improve the property to your satisfaction, and hopefully the value (and your equity) will appreciate as well.
Most people want their assets to appreciate, that is, go up in value, over time. Many people in the US built their fortunes doing just that, buying and improving property. Even an old shack in the wilderness can become a beautiful place that others can appreciate. I hope you can find your “shack” someday and I would love to help!
